Food is a basic need and we will guarantee it to every resident.

With our Vermont Renews partners, we are fighting to guarantee the right to nutritious food for all Vermonters through a food system that centers ecologically sound farming practices and fair labor practices.

This means expanding support for small, local farmers in Vermont, building a larger network of small, local farms throughout the region, and restoring natural ecosystems, as well as expanding food assistance programs.

Our Campaigns

Universal School Meals

We support legislation to guarantee free breakfast and lunch at school for all Vermont public school students. This includes a preference for supporting local farms as main suppliers to schools. Learn more about the Universal School Meals campaign.

BIPOC Land Access

We support legislation to create a fund and programming to build social and racial equity in land access and property ownership, by targeting investments to Vermonters from communities historically impacted by discrimination.
