Rights & Democracy is urging Vermont's superdelegates to vote for Bernie Sanders after gaining more than 85 percent of the state's support for Vermont's primary. The grassroots organization hand delivered a petition with more than 5,000 signatures asking Sen. Patrick Leahy to vote for Sanders.
Sen. Leahy recently clarified his position saying he will vote for the candidate with the most pledged delegates at the end of the primary season.
The advocacy group will also hand deliver the petitions to Gov. Peter Shumlin, former Gov.Howard Dean and DNC woman Billie Gosh. All three have pledged their support for Hillary Clinton.
