Rights & Democracy Vermont has joined forces with Vermont Conservation Voters, Planned Parenthood Vermont Action Fund, ACLU-Vermont, and the Vermont-NEA to organize a series of electoral trainings throughout the state and there’s one coming up soon near you!
LEAD-VERMONT ELECTORAL TRAINING
When: Saturday, April 14th (9:30AM–4:30PM)
Where: City Council Room, City Hall (100 Main St, St. Albans VT)
If you want to build the skills to change our political systems in a serious way, either by running for office or by supporting candidates running for progressive change, apply here for our LEAD-VT training.
LEAD-Vermont (short for Leadership, Education, and Development) was founded in a non-partisan effort to recruit, train, and empower future progressive leaders of our state.
A run for political office can be a daunting endeavor, so LEAD-VT will demystify the process of running for office by addressing the political landscape facing prospective candidates and campaign managers, and give them the tools and training necessary to mount successful electoral campaigns. By incorporating the skills and values of its member organizations, a LEAD-VT training will help prospective candidates challenge our political system’s inherent injustices.
Our trainings provide an overview of how we arrived at our current political situation, our long-term agenda, a power analysis, as well as a deeper look at running strong campaigns, such as:
- How to build a base;
- The nuts & bolts of campaign planning & management;
- Messaging & media;
- Operating a field campaign; and,
- Fundraising.
If you’re considering a run for political office, or would like to learn more about supporting candidates who share our values around social, economic, and environmental justice, we encourage you to be a part of LEAD-VT.
We ask for a $50 donation to help us fund these trainings, though we will of course accommodate for those who cannot afford to make a full (or any) donation.
Coffee and lunch will be provided.
