Rights & Democracy is hosting two events on June 29th in which residents in Rutland and Bennington will get to ask direct questions of candidates running for the state’s highest office.
The featured speaker at each our Vermont gubernatorial events—Whose Vermont? Our Vermont!—will be Nina Turner, president of Our Revolution. Rights & Democracy is an affiliate group of Our Revolution in both Vermont and New Hampshire.
On Friday, June 29th, Rights & Democracy—along with the Rutland area NAACP—will host a gubernatorial candidate forum in Rutland with all of the Democratic candidates—James Ehlers, Christine Hallquist, Brenda Siegel, and Ethan Sonneborn. Candidates Keith Stern and Gov. Phil Scott declined our invitations.
Later that eventing Rights & Democracy—along with Rights & Democracy of Bennington—will host a gubernatorial panel in Bennington. The same Democratic candidates will be attending this panel, and Stern and Scott declined to attend.

These forums will provide community members the chance to ask questions that matter most to them and their community, and hear directly from candidates what they’ll do to tackle the most pressing issues facing them and their community.
